Alan Kritzler, Principal Consultant

Alan Kritzler has served the management audit and program design and implementation needs for MTA's Office of the Inspector General, New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, New York's Department of Social Services, and New York State Common Cause.  In addition he has solved problems and served the needs of a range of other public service, mental health and cultural organizations as well as corporate clients. 

Mr. Kritzler's articles on public policy, organizational management and corporate philanthropy have appeared in a variety of publications. His latest article on campaign finance five years after the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision can be seen on Truth-Out.org in the Speak-Out Section. He has also organized a variety of conference plans on key subjects.

 

 

MTA Office of the Inspector General (MTA OIG)

As Senior Performance Auditor for MTA OIG, Mr. Kritzler used his expertise and skills in management research, investigative interviewing, program analysis, problem solving and report writing in order to further the Inspector General's mission;  this included identifying and rectifying instances of fraud, waste or abuse, and conducting performance audits on all major MTA agencies, These included New York City Transit, Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad.  Issues ranged from optimizing management effectiveness and program safety to the evaluations of major vendor contracting practices.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

As Coordinator of The Metropolitan Museum's Technical Services Program, Mr. Kritzler developed and managed a pioneering city-wide technical service resource-barter system for the cooperative exchange of technical services, expertise and materiel among 25 New York City cultural organizations.  To aid other cities in establishing similar service-barter networks, Mr. Kritzler published a major article in Grants Magazine of establishing city wide resource sharing networks.

Brooklyn Historical Society

As a consultant to the Society Alan Kritzler conceived and created an original exhibition theme which linked the Society's collection to be exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum with the then forthcoming Brooklyn Bridge Centennial.  The resulting exhibition, "Brooklyn Before the Bridge," became the first Brooklyn Bridge Centennial event, earning major corporate funding, audience popularity, and an enthusiastic review in the New York Times.
